‘Empreinte Swahili’ is the wallcovering replica of the ‘Swahili’ the fabric version. On an unwoven base, an overlay of puffing ink (called «puff») delineates the printed pattern , exactly like on the velvet ‘Swahil. To obtain this metallic effect, a thin sheet of coloured metal (called «foil») is deposited on the surface, melting into the ink: it is a copper shade for to the carbon colourway, and a silver shade for the ivory colourway.
